Our sheep
In 2020 we got our first gute sheep (gutefår) - and were hooked immediately.
They have a really wonderful character, they are calm, friendly and intelligent. Soon some more moved in with us, and in september 2020 we even got ram "Fabian".
In spring 2021, they got their very first lambs - what an adventure!
Gute sheep
""Four good reasons for the conservation of gut sheep:
-
Cultural history: Gute sheep are one of the oldest cultural heritage we have to manage.
-
Genetic: Gute sheep are a living gene bank, irreplaceable and full of good qualities.
-
Aesthetic: Gute sheep are beautiful, the rams with their strong horns are purely monumental.
-
Practical / economical: Gute sheep become easily accessible, have easy paralysis and the economic exchange is, under given conditions, equivalent to other landrace sheep. "

Breeding
We breed in order to preserve the historic Swedish sheep breed "gutefår". Ram Fabian is an inspected and approved breeding beetle, all animals have pedigrees and we are part of the MV program and Elitlamm. Sometimes we have lambs for sale - feel free to write a message if interested.
Meat
For us, meat is a by-product of breeding - but it tastes delicious. The lambs grow slowly, they eat lots of hay, grass, herbs and sly. They are cuddled almost every day, everyone has a name - we think they have a good life, until they are slaughtered at about 7 months of age at a "KRAV"-slaughterhouse in Kristinehamn.
Once a year it is possible to purchase meat directly from our farm. Please write to us if you're interested!
